Art Trips

12th Dec 2016

The Art Department had their annual Year 10 trip to the Tate Gallery in Liverpool to study Art at first hand to advance their GCSE studies. The group worked practically generating ideas to be developed back in school as part of their portfolio submissions. One of the highlights of the exhibition was a collection of illustrations by the British artists William Blake.

The Year 8 attended the World Museum Liverpool to further their understanding of the place of art in different cultures. The students worked on a variety subjects from Oceanic and American carving to the elaborate fine metalwork from to Japan. The current exhibition features a collection mummified animals revealed via X Rays and MRI enabling an understanding of the contents. All work is now being followed up back in the classroom.
